Leeds School is in Benson County in north central North Dakota on U.S.. Highway #2. An athletic cooperative involving Leeds and Maddock is called the Benson County Wildcats. The Leeds area is a sportsman's paradise with world class hunting and fishing. Agriculture is the main industry producing abundant amounts of wheat, canola, corn, soybeans, and several varieties of beans.

Our Mission is to provide knowledge as the cornerstone of success.

SPEECH

Leeds Speech team participated in the Rolette speech meet on January 17. The team had students in 7 events with 5 placing in finals. The team is coached by Eileen Herman.

Poetry Out Loud School Winners

The Poetry Out Loud school competition was held January 27 at the Leeds School. Nikara took first, Sara G second and Josh B third. Judges were Joel Braaten and Kevin Cartwright.  Louise Nelson was accuracy judge. State competition will be March 2 in Bismarck

SCIENCE FAIR

Leeds Science Fair was held January 24. Receiving blue ribbons were: Kaylee-What music genre makes bacteria grow the most; Spencer-Why are things creepy?; Evan-solar panels; Keaton-Hot or Cold?; Reganne and Hailey-The effect of general purpose chemicals against microorganisms in lake water; Eric and Declan-What is the best form to shoot a basketball?; Jarrel-How light color effects plants; Zoe-How salty does the sea have to be for an egg to float, Madilyn-Will music stimulate a plant's growth?; and Macy-Is it possible to hatch 8 out of 10 eggs in an incubator instead of a hen?

Regional Science Fair is February 25 in Velva. Leeds Science Fair is sponsored by Science Club. Mr. Barnes is the advisor.
